Hollow Tree

Info · Activity / Experience · North Vancouver (Vancouver, Coast and Mountains) · Free

The Hollow Tree is a massive ancient western red cedar stump in Stanley Park, one of Vancouver's most iconic natural landmarks, estimated to be over 1,000 years old. Cyclists riding the Stanley Park perimeter road or seawall pass close to this storied giant, which has been a popular photo stop for generations of visitors. It was nearly removed in 2006 but a public campaign led to its preservation and structural reinforcement.
