Every touring cyclist in BC is doing the same detective work: Will the hostel store my bike? Does the bus take three bikes? Will I be able to fill up my water bottle mid-ride?
We Welcome Cyclists is a pilot accreditation program being developed by the BC Cycle Tourism Society for businesses that genuinely serve cycle tourists. Seven categories, criteria written for what each one actually needs, and every listing tells you what you're getting before you arrive.
Accredited accommodations have secure indoor bike storage — described in the listing so you know what to expect. Campgrounds commit to always having space for cyclists. Restaurants give you somewhere to park where you can see your loaded bike. And transport listings tell you about bike fees, bagging requirements, and advance booking.
It's free to join. We review applications ourselves and aim to respond within two weeks.
