Townsite Heritage Society
The Townsite Heritage Society stewards the Powell River Townsite, a National Historic Site of Canada and one of the most intact examples of a planned early-20th-century mill town in North America. The heritage district features over 400 buildings dating from the 1910s onward, built to house workers at the Powell River paper mill. Touring cyclists exploring the Sunshine Coast will find the townsite an atmospheric stop with distinctive period architecture set along the waterfront.
