Kootenay Trout Hatchery
The Kootenay Trout Hatchery and Visitor Centre is operated by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, a non-profit that raises and releases trout, char, and kokanee into hundreds of lakes across the province. Located just outside Cranbrook in Fort Steele, the facility welcomes drop-in visitors with self-guided hatchery tours and a seasonal public fishing pond.
