Kwa'lilas Hotel
Kwa'lilas Hotel is the only Indigenous-owned 4-star hotel on northern Vancouver Island, located in Port Hardy at the northern tip of the island. Named from the Kwak̓wala word for 'a place to sleep,' it was curated by Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw Elders and features original Indigenous artwork, masks, and cultural displays throughout. Touring cyclists finishing or beginning the full island route will find on-site dining at Nax'id' Pub and Ha'me' Restaurant, plus modern room amenities in a culturally immersive setting.
