Moricetown Fishing

Info · Moricetown (Northern British Columbia) · Free

Moricetown Fishing refers to the dramatic canyon rapids on the Bulkley River near Witset (Moricetown), BC, a site of deep cultural significance to the Wet'suwet'en people who have fished for salmon here for millennia. The narrow canyon creates powerful natural chutes that concentrate migrating salmon, making it one of the most visually striking traditional fishing sites in northwestern BC. Touring cyclists on the nearby Yellowhead corridor (Highway 16) pass close by and commonly stop to observe the canyon.
