Hamber Park
Hamber Park is a vast remote wilderness in BC's Kootenay region, forming part of one of the world's largest contiguous protected area blocks and designated a UNESCO Canadian Rocky Mountains World Heritage Site. Access to the interior requires a 22 km journey from the Sunwapta Falls trailhead in Jasper National Park, with the primary destination being Fortress Lake and its surrounding alpine terrain. Facilities are minimal by design: a rustic campground with a toilet exists at the east end of the lake, while the rest of the park is undeveloped backcountry.
