Wasa Hotel Museum

Info · Museum / Gallery · Cranbrook (Kootenay Rockies) · Moderate

The Wasa Hotel Museum is a historic two-storey hipped-roof building within Fort Steele Heritage Town, a sweeping outdoor heritage complex of more than 60 historic and reconstructed structures operated by the Cranbrook Archives, Museum, and Landmark Society. The site interprets BC's late-19th-century Gold Rush and ranching era on the ancestral territory of the Ktunaxa and Secwépemc peoples, now under renewed stewardship since April 2025. Touring cyclists will find the Wasa Hotel listed as one of the site's designated cooling stations, making it a useful mid-ride refuge on hot Kootenay days.
