Emerald Lake
Emerald Lake is Yoho National Park's largest and most iconic lake, renowned for its vivid turquoise colour produced by glacial rock flour suspended in glacial meltwater. Nestled beneath the President Range on the western slopes of the Great Divide, it sits at the end of a dedicated access road off the Trans-Canada Highway near Field, BC. The lake is a popular day-use destination within a UNESCO World Heritage-associated park also known for the nearby Burgess Shale fossil beds.
