Wild Cortes
Wild Cortes is the permanent off-site Natural History Education Centre of the Cortes Island Museum & Archives, housed at Linnaea Education Centre on Cortes Island. It presents rotating exhibitions on local ecology, wildlife, and conservation—past shows have covered humpback whale recovery, old-growth forest trust, cougars and wolves, and the cascade effects of climate change—alongside a unique taxidermy collection curated by Laurel Bohart and a hands-on EcoLab with microscopes. The centre is a collaborative project of the Cortes Wild! partnership, bringing together local societies, biologists, geologists, and educators.
