Stamp Falls Fish ladder
Stamp River Park on central Vancouver Island is home to the Stamp Falls fish ladder, where thousands of Pacific salmon — sockeye, coho, and chinook — can be watched fighting their way upstream through autumn and into December. A short 0.5 km interpretive trail leads from the day-use parking area to the falls and fish ladder, with lookout points offering close-up views of the annual run. The salmon draw black bears to the riverbank as well, making this a genuinely wild and memorable stop for cyclists touring the Port Alberni area.
