Pebble Beach Reserve
The Pebble Beach Reserve is a protected natural area on Galiano Island managed by the Galiano Conservancy Association, encompassing several kilometres of undeveloped shoreline, accessible pebble beaches, and a culturally significant archaeological site recognized by Hul'qumi'num-speaking peoples as Qw'xwulwis. District Lot 63 — the specific parcel recorded in OSM — is the subject of a long-running forest restoration project begun in 2001 to reverse the ecological damage of intensive mid-20th-century clear-cutting. The adjacent area includes one of the largest remaining stands of mature Coastal Douglas-fir forest on the island, making it a rewarding off-road detour for cyclists exploring the Gulf Islands.
