VIRL: Port Clements Branch
The Port Clements branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library has served this small Haida Gwaii community since 1983, and relocated to its current Cedar Avenue home in 2009. The branch is housed in a multiplex alongside the Village of Port Clements municipal office and the local elementary school, making it a genuine community hub. For touring cyclists on Haida Gwaii—one of BC's most remote and scenically dramatic cycling destinations—it represents a rare public facility and rest stop in an area with very limited services.
