Industrial Heritage Centre
The Industrial Heritage Centre is operated by the Western Vancouver Island Industrial Heritage Society, a volunteer-driven organization founded in 1983 that restores and displays vintage logging trucks, steam engines, railway equipment, and other industrial machinery from mid-Vancouver Island. The society also runs the Alberni Pacific Railway, where visitors can board a train hauled by a fully restored 1929 Baldwin steam locomotive at the 1912 CPR Station and ride to the McLean Mill National Historic Site. Knowledgeable volunteer-led guided tours are available on request at either the Heritage Centre or the railway roundhouse.
