VIRL: Bella Coola Branch
The Bella Coola Branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library is a small but long-established public library serving a remote community at the end of Highway 20, the legendary Freedom Highway through BC's Coast Mountains. Originally opened in 1981 with just 4,000 books in a tiny room, it has grown into a community hub now housed in the local Co-op building on the territory of the Nuxalk Nation.
