Okanagan Rail Trail

The Okanagan Rail Trail follows the former CN rail corridor from Coldstream (just east of Vernon) south through Oyama and Lake Country to the north end of Kelowna. The surface is mostly packed crushed gravel with some paved sections near town centres. The grade is gentle — rail grade never exceeds 2% — making it accessible to families, e-bikes, and casual riders.
The trail passes through some of the Okanagan's best orchard and vineyard country, with Kalamalka Lake's famous turquoise water visible for much of the ride. Oyama is the midpoint and the best place to resupply.
Getting there
Vernon: BC Transit from Kelowna or drive to the Coldstream trailhead (Kal Lake Rd parking). Kelowna: start from the Kelowna end at Rail Trail Park off Hwy 97.
Getting away
Reverse the ride, or arrange a shuttle. The trail is an out-and-back unless you loop on Highway 97 (not recommended — busy road).
